Midsummer Music 2013

Gatehouse of Fleet’s annual Midsummer Music Festival returns this year with a cracking line-up, over the longest weekend of the year.

Announcing the final line-up, Festival Committee Chair Franca Bruno said: “We’re really pleased with the way things are panning out.  We’re opening up the main concerts with Malcolm Middleton, formerly of Arab Strap.  We also have Shelagh Macdonald, a legend of the 70s folk-rock scene, who is starting to tour again.  Friday evening’s concert also features reggae band Pepperjam, who launch their new album in May, Mosa Funk Club from Glasgow, and local band with growing national reputation, The Razorbills. Closing out the concerts we’re enormously excited about Black Diamond Express, a 9-piece country/blues outfit from Edinburgh.  They’re playing at T in the Park in July, and make a very impressive noise!”

Entertainment for tots comes from The Wee Folk Stramash on Saturday morning and a Youth Showcase on Saturday afternoon to allow older children and teenagers to display their talents.
Acoustic concerts feature in the Faed Gallery at the Mill on the Fleet, and Tea Dance with a Twist on Sunday afternoon, with yet more music.
