The Community Council organised a survey of residents in February this year to guage opinion on a range of community topics and to seek suggestions and ideas to make Gatehouse better. 600 surveys were distributed and there were 58 replies with a good mix of views and suggestions. The resilts are available here as a pdf download.
In the mid nineteenth century the factor at Cally did many water colour sketches within the woods at Cally and a hundred years ago William McMurray took a number of photographs of Cally but neither of them drew or photographed the Temple.
Those from Gatehouse and District who Served in World War 1, compiled by Margaret Wright is a new 186 page book recording the people connected with Gatehouse of Fleet who served in the First World War. The book accompanies the exhibition Gatehouse Folk in the Great War which will continue in the Mill on the Fleet Exhibition Centre till the end of October.
