Kirkcudbright Galleries

Kirkcudbright Galleries, is a brand new gallery of national significance, located in Kirkcudbright in the redeveloped 19th century Town Hall.   The Kirkcudbright Artists’ Collection, of recognised national significance, is on permanent display with works by artists such as John Faed, Robert Sivell, Edward Atkinson Hornel, Jessie Marion King and Samuel John Peploe.  This exhibition tells the history of the artist’s colony which established itself in Kirkcudbright and looks at why the town was and still is a desirable location for so many artists and creative people.  There are two temporary exhibition galleries hosting a varied programme of touring and special exhibitions throughout the year.
