Gatehouse Horticultural Society 2017 Annual Show held on Saturday 26th August at Gatehouse Community Centre

Well what a show, a great turnout with lots of entries and new, and not so new, faces who came along with a great collection of exhibits.

The show was opened by the President Joe Proudlock who introduced Sara-Leigh Cain in his usual entertaining way, Sara-Leigh presented the trophies to the winners and thanked everyone for coming along and taking part.  A strong emphasis on working together as a community was made by Sara-Leigh to keep the vibrancy of Gatehouse going.

Joe also sent the shows best wishes to Phemie McCarlie, our oldest committee member who has been ill, however Phemie had managed to sneak into the show and surprise us all, which was great and lovely to see her.

Cut Flowers and Pot Plants – Nick Hoskins

Large and Small Decorative – Sheila Pook and May Lockhart

Fruit and Vegetables – Jimmy Reid

Baking – Muriel Johnston

Produce – Fiona and Ruaridh Hesketh

Preserves – Nancy Birse

Handicrafts – Gina Lawson

Juvenile and Children – Catherine Proudlock
