A statutory four week consultation was carried out during June welcoming any final comments on the Plan before being finalised for submission to Dumfries and Galloway Council at the end of July. This consultation closed on 30th June 2025.

What is a Local Place Plan?
Local Place Plans give communities an opportunity to shape development in their local area and have their say in what is important to them. They give you all a chance to talk about what you like about Gatehouse, what challenges you see, what you feel the priorities are and what you would like to see in Gatehouse in the future.
The Gatehouse Local Place Plan which is now complete and registered will be taken into account by Dumfries and Galloway Council as it prepares its Local Development Plan which sets out how and where land and property will be used.
